RULE CHANGE (3/14/00): You may have a background (static or scrolling) of your own creation. Meaning you can use your own art for the background, and it does not need to be based off SpriteLib. Hopefully this will make it a little bit easier for everyone.
Only one entry allowed per person.
Entries must be submitted by individuals. No team entries will be allowed.
The only required material for submission is the files necessary to play your game (executable, art, documentation, etc)
The game's art MUST be from the SpriteLib art library by Ari Feldman. Art applies to the in-game artwork. It does not pertain to the menus, fonts, title screen, or cursors. You may supply your own art for those. If you should choose to have particle-like entities, you must generate them algorithmically at run-time. If you do choose to use your own artwork (for menus, fonts, title screen, or cursors), the judges must be able to view the artwork through common software such as Paint Shop Pro.
Music and sound may be of your own choosing.
The game must have at least one (1) playable level, however, it is recommended that you include three (3) playable levels with your entry.
GameDev.net reserves the right to choose the number of winning entries.
The game must be developed for the Windows platform (or else it can't be judged).
Entries will be judged by the members of the GameDev.net staff.
GameDev.net reserves the right to cancel the contest at any time without prior notification.
GameDev.net may modify the contest rules at any time without prior notification.
