Samples in Cakewalk
I made a neat piano instrument (.xi) in tracker out of my Steinway Piano, and I am having some friends to come over later with a flute, string quartet, french horn, and a picollo. I am also gonna sample my guitars and drumkit.
What instruments I make I guess is irrevelant.
My question is : Can I use these samples in Cakewalk, so I dont have to go through the tedium of typing in EVERY note in tracker individually? I want to use my keyboard to play them.
Secondly: If no, are there any programs out there that do this? (Allow you to use a keyboard with Instruments made from samples)
Thanks in advance!

Do you have soundfont support on your soundcard? If so, then that might be something you want to pursue. If this isn't doable, then perhaps someone can recommend a software sampler?!

I do have soundfont support ( I have SoundBlaster live)
I understant now what Sound Font is, but I dont know how to create the instrument out of my samples!
I have 2 samples per octave for my Piano, 4 per octave per Horn and Flute, etc.
I dont really know how to configure the instruments.
any help?

Do you have Vienna Soundfont Studio installed?
Get it here:
http://www.soundfont.com/downloads2/vienna23.zip
(or try and find it on the soundblaster website)
Vienna allows you to create soundfonts. I found its interface pretty self explanatory, but if you have any questions then fire away!
