Quick rant: Narrative Design - The Craft of Writing for Games by Michael Breault is a terrible book.

I just read a book called Narrative Design - The Craft of Writing for Games by Michael Breault, and I want my time back. At this point, I kind of expect books on game design to have lots of useless filler like “how to interact with team members" and “how to format a game design document” and “how to advance your career” and other crap that has nothing to do with the actual art and craft of designing a game. This book is almost entirely such filler. The entire sum of its writing advice is “keep it short” (oh, the irony), “focus on characters over plot” and “don't make the plot about saving the world”. There, I saved all of you the time it takes to read this book.

Woh, $45 for Kindle?

I'm not spending that much to figure out if your right.

Sounds like he's cashing in on hopes and dreams.

It's not like someone will get into the industry, and say, “I owe it all to this book. ”

That's expensive enough to be a textbook.

Write an amazon review, it looks like the others disagree with you.

$45 is definitely way too much for such a book, which is why I kept the price low on my own book, An Introduction to Game Writing. ?
