Happy late new year!
Where do we stand with Freja right now?
Since the last update, several improvements have been made. A new enemy has been implemented, we finished one of the minigames, made a saferoom and added a whole lot of new things.
Still a lot to do, but we're making good progress.
What we ha…

Today I've finished updating the last level for the upcoming demo, and honestly, I'm pretty proud of how far this project has come the last few months. I've been updating eac…

- As I promised, I'm back with some updated content and a sneak peek at the gameplay. (Don't be harsh, the game is still in development...). However, I have some sad news: the release date has been delayed. I will be back with additional information about the delay as soon as I see the l…
The Space Jump effect is pretty simple when looking at its individual components.
Previously I created a 3D star field for the environmental rendering.
I use the 3D locations of these stars in the effect.
When the effect starts, I start cranking up the light emitted for each star.
This is done by just …
I tried:

DirectInput InputManager = new DirectInput();
}
RenderLoop(){
Mouse mouse = new Mouse(InputManager);
MouseState mouseState = new MouseState
mouse.Acquire();
mouse.getCurrentState(ref mouseState);
Console.WriteLine("X: " + mouseState.X + " Y: " + mouseState.Y)…

Hello Community,
The update V1.4 is about the textures of trees and paths and includes many other small improvements. The textures of the trees were stretched in the past and therefore the trees did not look so good in the game. Now the textures are integrated into the game in double resolution.

This update features the very last implementation on Hibotchi's "to-do" list; a visual history of gauntlet attempts that the player has undergone. From now on, there's nothing else that's important enough to include in the final release, just polish! (Namely, re-implementing some systems and r…

Hi there gamedev community, it's time for another Hibotchi update! This one is all about player progression. The more you play, the more cards you unlock for deck-building.
The WebGL version you see on the site has a limited number of cards available, as it is simply the demo version. To get full ac…
Hi all, it's been a couple of months since the last major launch - quite a difference from the usual month between launches. I've been making additions to too many different parts of the game at once, which has proved difficult and harrowing to test all of the interactions between various bits. The…

Refactored the way hazards are stored and spawned.
Cleaned up some proj…
The next big update to Hibotchi changes up the UI to add a "history" panel and a "number of similar cards" number on cards, as well as an "order completed" animation! It's still in the works, but I thought I'd share a progress gif.
Hi there! I don't usually post things mid-week, but this is worth blogging about!
First up, after a bit of brainstorming, I finally gave my game a title:
While it's a working title it's still a big upgrade form the vague name it once had.
Second, coming with the brand new title is the new offici…
