Hi Gamedev,
Myself and a friend have been developing this game for the past few months, it's called Drop Dead Zed, and we were hoping for some feedback on what we have so far...
We both appreciate a few screenshots isn't exactly much to go off, but the game is still very early on in development right now so any input would be appreciated

Our main features so far are:
-Dynamic lighting and shadows
-Dynamic visibility cone, allowing realistic field of view
-Indoor/outdoor weather effects
-Client-side physics with basic network integration
-Multiplayer with client-server architecture, allowing for dedicated servers.
-Lootable and wearable items with drag/drop inventory and hot-bar system
-Networked shooting and player damage
-Built-in map editor
It's still quite early but our long term planned features include:
-Crafting and item combination system
-Hunting and survival system
-Server-based persistent worlds and player characters
-Player base-building
-Barricading and building fortification
-Destructible environment and explosives
-Roaming zombies and dynamic AI
-Player controlled vehicles
-Dynamic events
-Dynamic day and night cycle
Currently we've been working on developing the main engine and editor, and we have a small test map which we've used for the screenshots. We're aiming for large scale maps in the future, with a heavy emphasis on multiplayer and survival.
While we're not releasing anything playable yet, we do have a twitter account which will update regularly @ http://www.twitter.com/_DropDeadZed
We'd appreciate any ideas and suggestions - thanks for reading!

This looks really good. The objects and map reminds me of Prison Architect:) Will you be releasing this as a standalone or a web player? Good luck!

Looks almost like Survivor Squad. I would definitely play it if it had better game mechanics than that game.

Thanks for the interest guys! :)

The art style is kinda similar, but we've got a lot more lighting and effects on top of that and this is a completely different style of game

This will be a stand-alone client release as far as we know - we may end up porting to Unity (or similar) in the future, which would allow us to embed in to a browser, but we've not got any plans for that at the moment..

There are a few games out there which use a similar top-down style with a 'field-of-view' cone, I think Monoco is another, but we're focusing heavily on making this a big, open, multiplayer sandbox environment with a lot of freedom for players to build and interact.

Here's some new screenshots from our latest build, with the tweaked lighting and networked player flash-lights.
