Artist-friendly tools and techniques?

So I am a professional 2D artist whose brain cannot comprehend the technical aspects of game dev - UV mapping, nodes, coding, all of that I've tried and failed at.

Now I understand that to make a "proper" game" you should be using "proper" tools and I do not intend to make a fully fleshed out game as a 2D artist all by myself - but for prototyping I'd just like to make the process as intuitive as possible.

Does anyone know of any tools, extensions, techniques that I could make use of? For example Clayxels seems like a cool tool that is easier to pick up from scratch. https://19216801.onl/
