Position Title: Unreal 5 Programmer - Indie Game Studio

Location: Hybrid (Barcelona, Spain) or Remote

Compensation: This is currently not a paid position; it's a collaboration with potential payment upon the release of the game.

About Us:

At Magic Rain Studios, we're more than just game developers; we're storytellers and dreamers. Our mission? Empower players to achieve the extraordinary crafting games that aren't just entertaining but also have the potential to enrich lives and spark joy in every player.
We are also enthusiasts of longboarding and board sports in general and that shows up in our games. We are currently developing two games: LUA, an 3D action-rhythm game where you skate on a longboard to the beat of the music, and ILA: A Frosty Glide, an exploration 3D platformer about becoming a witch while flying in a magical skatebroom. Opportunity:

We are seeking a talented Unreal Programmer to join our team and contribute to the development of our exciting upcoming projects. As an Unreal Programmer, you'll have the opportunity to work on fun and visually pleasing games with positive impact that captivate audiences worldwide.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with our multidisciplinary team to implement game features and mechanics using Unreal Engine.
  • Optimize game performance and ensure smooth gameplay experiences across various platforms.
  • Debug and troubleshoot issues to maintain the stability and integrity of our games.
  • Contribute to the overall design and architecture of our game projects.

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in Unreal Engine 5 and C++ programming language.
  • Knowledge of Perforce for version control and collaborative development workflows.
  • Experience with game development concepts such as gameplay programming, creating tools in the Unreal Editor, and optimization.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and take responsibility for tasks and deadlines.
  • Being able to communicate in English as our team is located worldwide.
