We are pleased to announce the release of Matali Physics 6.2, the first step on the way to the seventh major version of the environment. The latest version brings changes necessary to implement effective navigation and wayfinding algorithms as well as complex AI behaviors, including group behaviors, for fully dynamic and destructible scenes where all objects can move, change and transform.

What is Matali Physics?

Matali Physics is an advanced, modern, multi-platform, high-performance 3d physics environment intended for games, VR, AR, physics-based simulations and robotics. Matali Physics consists of the advanced 3d physics engine Matali Physics Core and other physics-driven modules that all together provide comprehensive simulation of physical phenomena and physics-based modeling of both real and imaginary objects.

What's new in version 6.2?

  • Parametric action fields and their application to control objects in 3d space. Combined with state machines, custom logic and other functionalities offered by the 3d physics environment, parametric action fields create a powerful solution for implementing effective navigation and wayfinding algorithms as well as complex AI behaviors, including group behaviors, for fully dynamic and destructible scenes where all objects can move, change and transform;
  • Comprehensive support for the Microsoft Game Development Kit (GDK), a set of tools, APIs, extensions, and programing models that can be used across current and future Microsoft Gaming platforms and initiatives. The latest version allows Matali Physics SDK users to create advanced, high-performance, physics-based and DirectX 12-based PC games to the Microsoft Store, where they can be part of initiatives like PC GamePass;
  • Optimizations for the ASUS ROG Ally console. The latest version allows Matali Physics SDK users to create advanced, high-performance, physics-based, DirectX 12-based or Vulkan-based PC games optimized for the ASUS ROG Ally console and Windows-based handheld consoles;
  • Other improvements and fixes which complete list is available on the History webpage.

What platforms does Matali Physics support?

  • Android
  • Android TV
