Making a game is hard. Staying motivated is even harder, especially during the current times, no thanks to the pandemic, when most of your team is working from home. When you are engaged in a game which may take a couple of years to complete, there are days when you feel down and lack the motivation to keep pushing forward. We know it because we've been living through it for a long time (six years, to be precise).

At Lucid Labs, we take pride in claiming that we are an all-remote team, and we have a history of taking even the simplest of things very seriously. As a result, our recent game Possessions took almost three years to land on a platform. During the development, some of the teammates, including Chirag Chopra, who's the founder at Lucid Labs, felt isolated and disconnected. Chirag soon realized that following other games in development, by not just looking at their fancy screenshots shared every Saturday, but checking out their progress, acting as a fuel for the motivation. That's how wemake.games was born.

Wemake.games is an exclusive space for anyone involved in the craft of making games to stay accountable and motivated by sharing their goals with the community. Started just over a few months ago in close beta, the platform houses a collection of 100 unique indie games, with over 500 talented game makers. We've closely worked with the community on improving the experience and we continue to do so. Today, we are excited to announce that the beta is now open to the public!

Here's how wemake.games can assist you in your game dev journey:

GOALS

Share your daily goals and tasks with the community to form streaks and stay socially accountable.

GAMES

Explore other indie games being made by members and add your own to generate early feedback and hype.

WiPs

Share your game's progress as an image, video or GIF to get feedback from like-minded makers.

DISCUSSIONS

Leave no question unanswered by participating in discussions around the craft.

And this is just the beginning. We have a lot of exciting things planned for the future of wemake.games and how it can help other developers around the globe in finishing their games.
