Hey guys...a reaaally quick update in addition to the one last night...I just 'finished' the scene for the main menu, I was just going to go with a spotlight and a black background...but I think a dark skydome looks much better.

The scene uses the exact models / shaders / render path that the 'actual' game does.

I uploaded a quick 1 minute video of the scene to YouTube as usual [grin]

btw...Havok physics update Part #4 coming later tonight maybe...

Looks really good, however, I think the rocks are a little too shiny. It makes sense if they are wet due to rain but otherwise you might want to make it a bit more matte.

Yea I've had it both ways, it's easy to tweak...I'll try a few different values in the specular texture of the rocks and do a comparison shot so you can see. I am kinda going for the storm effect, I was going to have a thunder storm in the background as well, but then there wouldn't be a strong directional/spot light.

I dunno,I guess I'm just a bloom addict XD

I would agree with adding rain and storm clouds. Maybe just add some light rain, as it would be seen right after the big downpour.

Bloom is like make-up: less is more :)

Impressive work though!

Well it's getting nearly impossible to tweak because the HDR/tonemapping will always make some parts really bright no matter what I do, my only choice is to bring up the ambient level in the scene to lessen the effects of the bloom.

You can already see an improvement from the black-background (last entry) -> skydome images (this entry). Also it doesn't bloom up like that when the camera is close to the statue, as when it's rotating @ the main menu...I took these screenshots by free-looking around and flying around.

But yea, I'm knee deep in physics/Havok code right now, but I will get around to adding a sort of weather/rain/thunderstorm effect to the scene and try to lessen the bloom.

Thanks for the comments guys.
