Your Favorite Genre Sucks VOL.1 - Wrapping Up Super LOC After A Decade
Yup read that right. Good evening doods, Daye Williams here.
Every worked on a Genre you despised? Well atleast got tired of it…like as time went on & on it became a grading tiresome grueling production & you realized time & time again you don't even love this genre like that! Like dude this is not even a passion project, not even nowhere near Like-Like or lust, just a project of out some technicality like a contract, or boredom…or for some girl you like…or to impress people…or to get your got damn career started!!!
Want to first start this off with saying, I despise SUPER LORD OF CHEESEBURGER. Truthfully, the project has always felt like a decade long kankersore. A bothersome girthy encumbersome anchor that has dragged me to the bottom of development Hell. A resentful dinky little greasy platformer that overstayed its welcome. What was only suppose to be a stepping stone to a fruitful career, became a boulder tied to my ankle as I attempted to swim to the surface.
Still…SUPER LORD OF CHEESEBURGERS is my baby & a small yet prideful part of me still holds it dear.

My intentions when first starting development of (SUPER) LORD OF CHEESEBURGER(S) was it to teach me the realities of game development & the harshness of production…& boy…did it do so…successfully kicking my dick in the dirt.
But like many mindless passionate idiots who sink an unreasonably amount of time into their dream at the expense of their social life & sanity, I couldn't give up.
SUPER LORD OF CHEESEBURGERS was an arduous but informative journey, truly proud of my scars. Though, I am truly estastic for the future. Incredibly hyped to expand my wings, & delve into what I truly inspired to do.
Its crazy to see how much Indie Games have progressed over the past decade, truly inspirational. Platformers have come so far. When I first started SUPER LOC, i wasn't expecting the classic Atari arcade gem ‘BurgerTime!’ to exist, haha.
Starting off as Make Me a Burger, grabbing ingredients was more physical, & the player was more of a vermin survival than a chef from another planet haha.

Its super weird, sometimes find sometimes enjoying SUPER LORD OF CHEESEBURGERS despite being a catalyst for my insanity, estranged family & friends :-)
There's a lot of Platformers out there huh. A whole ass load of them. Platformers are cool. Wario Land 4 is king. Greatest Platformer ever. I hate developing them. Utterly detest it. Not sure if I'm going to make another platformer in the future.
F**king Coyote time, You fool you missed the ledge….doesn't it suck laying out a platformer…really really really got a lot of luv & kudos to SUPER MEAT BOY….i don't hate platformers…been a bit resentful tho….remember when there were platformers everywhere & now there's a bunch of roguelikes & farming sims haha
Scaling everything ahhhhhhhhh
SUPER LORD OF CHEESEBURGERS lore is soo random haha. Originally the inspiration was Invader ZIM & his old job as an intergalactic fry cook at a shitty fast food shopping mall in the middle of space haha (such a cool background story…lol the episode where he is forced to go back to make up for his debt). Here players find ingredients…make burgers from them…avoid hungry aliens… i hate writing that tagline…i've wrote it too many times…i cannot wait to move onto projects that fit my style & interest more.
I don't think any project should be abandoned. Especially if you sunk so much time into it. SUPER LORD OF CHEESEBURGERS took out a chunk of my 20s, but it is just a product of me & I could've been way more productive, professional & punctual…the fault is on me.
I refused to give up on it, especially when you're sitting on a whole projects worth of GFX, like cmon. Must admit…the project would've been done years ago If I took the bull by the horns & coded this project by myself ages ago.
Please don't procrastinate children, There are No Refunds on Time.
Also play SUPER LORD OF CHEESEBURGERS why wontcha. Plenty of places to go to play but the major platform I was aiming for was Mobile. The stupidest thing was launching the OG LORD OF CHEESEBURGERS on WEB PORTALS!
WEB PORTALS! IN THIS DAY N AGE!? LIKE DUDE, WHAT! Not that there's nothing wrong with Web/Game Portals today, just for such a decently cool game like SUPER LORD OF CHEESEBURGERS people should be able to cook burgers if I'm expecting it to successful yet standout on a web portal in the late 2010s/2020s.

Another major reason was Mobile, to see the inner workings of Mobile platformers, & to have something while I pester folks on the street here in New York City.

Well after all these years finally made it on there….swimming in the ocean of shit & wonder…finally got SUPER LORD OF CHEESEBURGERS on the Play Store, play here if you have an Android Phone (aiming for IOS soon….hopefully…ugh) - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.teamogre.superloc
