First risk mitigation cycle and results:

This section is for risks I saw and wrote down about during my brainstorming session

Risk: Too many super units with the price decrease
Mitigation idea: Price increase
Results: Turned out to be mixed, prices adjusted accordingly

Risk: Too many super units at the start of the battle
Mitigation idea: Only 2 can be deployed per round(So you can have 10 on the board, but only 2 new ones a round)
Results: Turned out not to be much of a problem, but the limit of 2 a round

Extra problems not foreseen

This section is for risks I saw after my brainstorming session but encountered through play.

Risk: Units blocking movement can cause some to be stuck(As in they can't advance forward because there are enemies in the way)
Mitigation idea: Remove unit blocking
Results: Me and players were much happier. Players are no longer frustrated and bored from being at the same position for 5+ rounds

Risk: Moving first has an advantage(There was no order, whoever moved their units first moved them first that round)
Mitigation idea: Alternate who moves first each round
Results: Me and players were much happier. Players could have a fair chance when it comes to movement now

Extra

Gained some experience in prototyping games, fixing problems with them, taking player feedback and doing a risk mitigation cycle. This is my first time doing many of these and I gained some valuable experience.

For the next post in this series I'll be going over a new board game I'm working on. Posts on this board game will stop for a while as I move on to the new one I'm making. I'm stopping on this one for now as it takes long to test (Games can take like 15+ hours spread over multiple days) and so I'm looking to work on something I can test faster then this one. I do wish to come back to this one day tho.

Cya next time!
