A little story

I started to dev #Pong about a week ago as I fighted with cmake and SDL for another idea of game to code.

My problen with CMake and SDL is now solved but I have now to finish #Pong.

I already had created the graphics a few time with inkskape and already made that game using godot in the past. I wasn't really happy of the final result of the godot version and finally (at the moment) not really a big fan of godot or unity engines I have tested.

And the game ?

I can't actually send the file too many things still to do but I have made a short video to show what is already done.

The next step will be to add some "AI" to the Player 2.

After that :

  • adding some little sounds

    adding a score counter...

and the 1Player mode will start to be ok.

Something I don't really understand yet...

I believe I have a problem with my vectors, actually the ball movements are not normalized and I know SFML has a normalize function but when I use that function I've got problem, I maybe have something to understand in how tu use it (if someone have the answer, let me know 🙂 ).

That's all for today, if you see some improvements I can do tell me.

Have a nice day 🙂
