The Feys and the Dead

I've always been fascinated by the connection between prehistoric burial mounds and faerie lore. This new research lines up nicely with folklore traditions of faeries (and later, fantasy elves) as a 'dying' people, who 'went to the west' (a traditional term for the afterlife).

Maybe sometime I'll post a short essay about the other connections between the feys and the dead on Patreon or elsewhere. It's quite fascinating to a folklore nerd like me.
