SPACE COMMANDER — Small browser space game

I've been experimenting with making small arcade games in the browser, and this became SPACE COMMANDER.

It's a simple retro-inspired space game that I'm continuing to experiment with.

I'd be interested to hear what mechanics you'd add to make a small space game more interesting.
