I''ve just bought a second hand Geforce 2 Ti and plugged it into my machine alongside my Voodoo5. The GF is running on my AGP slot while the VD is PCI. What''s really strange is this: Using the MadOnion Benchmarking program, the GF gets 834 while the VD only gets 401 (pretty apalling scores... I promise I''ll upgrade my whole machine soon :-)). This kind of makes sense. However, when I run Quake3 the VD out-performs the GF by about 12 fps. In dungeon seige, the VD out-performs the GF by about 4 fps. In my own game engine, the VD runs at around 50fps, while the GF sits at 43 fps. It''s kind of baffling. Anyone care to hazard a guess why the GF is better on the benchmark, but worse in-game?

Try upgrading your drivers to the newest version. Get them Here

Yes, the new drivers. And BTW, which depth are you running those games. If you are in 16 bit resolution then I''ll say to try 32 because GeForce2 is faster in 32 bit

OK, I am running the detonator drivers... presume they''re the latest ''coz I downloaded them from the site last night.

But... it''s not the poor game performance that confuses me, it''s the poor game performance when the benchmark runs it faster.

So, what''s the benchmark software doing that the games aren''t?

take a look at www.madonion.com and get the benchmark if you don''t already have it. It seems pretty comprehensive.
