What is Power Render...really?

Ok I kinda understand what Power Render is...Im thinking of looking into getting it, but dont know much about it...i went to their site and couldnt find all the info i wanted. can anyone give me a brief description...also what experience do you need to work with this program, and some links to any really good sites and tutorials on using this program, as well as any other useful information Thanks Scott CFE
