looks like a whole nother langauge to learn :/ are maekfiles important enough to try and figure out?

if you are planning to program in linux, definetely yes..

but, normally waht most people do (lazy ones like me) to start with a working makefile, edit it to suit your needs.. by the way, it''s not that complex as it seems. once u play with some of them, you get the idea, and it really does increase your performance..

if u are a ms guy with msvc++, forget about makefiles. you''ll hardly ever need it..
