Recursion is supposed to have a stop condition and your''s hasn''t.

So it''s an INFINITE LOOP! YAY!

No, it''s infinite recursion

IIRC, this joke was done years ago, in Monkey Island 2.

Yann, YOU ARE EVIL!

I almost clicked the link...

I''m compelled to click the link...

I desire to click the link...

But I''m sick and tired of rebooting & formatting my server

Click it and let it go for a few seconds.
Then just ctrl alt delete and kill all the
processes. It was fun.

Doh! For that reason I had to click it! =D But I have a new respect for WinXP now at least. It finally said something like (Internet Explorer has encountered an error, and has to close now. If you continue to experience problems please reboot.)

Yeah, a decent OS + user can easily handle that. But I guess we have some people here, that don''t know how to kill multiple processes (or have a poor OS), so I put in that "I don''t take any responsability" disclaimer

Recursions are so elegant and simple. Many people hate it because they fear it. They dont TRY (note try) to understand that its not complicated at all if you look at it from a different perspective. I love recursion, its just so natural.

There were lot of people in my first year course that just hated it. I guess their brain just cant do that type of processing. Any one ever get that warm feeling when you solve a comple problem with recursion and make all the students confused?

Whew, that was scary! Luckily I beat it, though. I''m not really sure how I got out of it, because everytime I would Ctrl+Alt+Delete, I would get rid of one, then do it again quickly, and there would be a few more IE windows. Then, I just went nuts to get rid of them, and all of my IE windows disappeared.

Great fun!

I am taking a C class right now as a refresher. It turns out that before that I never was taught recursion (bad teachers I think =() Anyway, I made my first recursion program and I am kinda proud now. =D Just thought I''d share. =D

Recursion and LISP, what a great combination.

One of the best classes, using Pure LISP with recursion taught me alot more about programming than some of the best C courses. I still like the pure functional languages.

Dude... this joke was made by my AP Comp teacher in 1986. I don''t believe he was the first either.

The C programming language book by Kernighan and Ritchie has a similar joke - seach recursion on the index (afaik, it''s the only joke(bug?) in that book)

You know, I never wanted to be a programmer...
