I just started learning opengl, and I''ve followed the first few of nehe''s tutorials. I see a lot of commands dealing with matrices, and they work fine. But I don''t know what the heck they''re doing to the matrices. I don''t know what opengl does with them in general. Is there a link or somewhere I can go that explains how opengl handles 3d and what it does with matrices, without teaching me the programming part? I just want to know how it works, then learn how to program it. http://roninmagus.hopto.org

opengl.org? Get copies of the spec (of whatever version, the basic matrices are pretty much the same), it details the maths being used.

To actually find out what the maths is doing, google for ''matrix math'' or ''linear algebra'' or ''maths for 3D graphics'' or similar.

The redbook. Chapter 3, to be precise.

And Appendix F.
