I''m not really a newbie at programming, or Visual C++ 6, but I have been having some real problems compiling directx applications lately. I do everything I always did before, include ddraw.h, include ddraw.lib into my project, but I still get an error "LNK2001 Unresolved external symbol _IDD_IDirectDraw4" I thought maybe I had the wrong version of the library, so I uninstalled VC++ 6, uninstalled DirectX SDK, Reinstalled them both, set my include and library paths to the correct DirectX include and library paths, and did everything else as normal. Still, I get the error, even though I include the library in my project. I''ve tried everything, but it does the same thing every time. Can anyone help me out on this? Please!

I did the same exact thing. You need to also add dxguid.lib to your project, along with ddraw.lib. It defines all of the GUIDs for DirectX interfaces.

Thank you so much! I don''t recall doing this before, but then again, maybe I did. I just got to the point where I could go further and learn more... then it craps out. But, I guess it was my fault. Thanks a lot!!!
