Right, I have been using VC++ for a year now as my primary compiler. I have only created Console apps... and when I have created Win32 apps it is for the sole use of DirectX. If I have to create a visual application I use Delphi or Borland C++ builder. What I would like to do is use Visual C++ for this purpose as well. I like the IDE and the features that VC++ gives me, but have only ever created. All I have seen created with VC++ is a dialog box type application.. and I know it is capable of so much more. What I am after is any really good beginners tutorials to creating applications, I am adept enough with C++ to code apps, just not with the interface VC++ provides me with. Any help would be appreciated.

I don''t know of any online tutorials but "sams teach yourself VC++ in 21 days" is a good place to start but it might not be quite what your looking for.

Most of the stuff that covers using the VC++ interface only uses Dialog boxes. It covers building SDI and MDI applications but does virtually nothing in the way of graphics, sound or using any api''s.

Thanks peoples.. I appreciate the replies. I have looked at WinProg.. looks good. Will settle down this weekend hopefully and get some practice in. There looks to be a lot more coding involved in getting simple applications to work.. How come Visual C++ doesn''t take on an approach similar to Borland, with Forms and stuff?
Or is the aim to provide more control to the user?

Just a few questions if ya fancy answering em.. but thank-you very much for the assistance.

If things seem bad, think that they can get a whole load worse, and they don''t seem so bad anymore
