So far when using OpenGL, I''ve always simply typed in the co-ordinates, sketching out the design with squared paper first. However, although this is OK for simple objects, it''s a pain for high-polygon objects.
Does anyone have any suggestions for free/cheap modelling tools, or any way to make good models more easily than simply typing out vast reams of glVertex3f(whatever);? Even if I make up functions that reuse similar objects, it''s still quite long-winded (e.g. a vase can be made out of similar cylinders with different radii going up the height).
