A few spoilers...

I saw it tonight and I have to say, that it was a horrible movie. Scary? Yeah right, I didn't even feel the slightest inclination to twitch during any point in the movie, except for when I needed to yawn.

"WHAT'S THAT? It sounds like talking!" It sounds like someone typing on a keyboard. Now that's freaky. My fear grows with every key I push. Ah. Scary.

A few claws aren't scary, because until the end, that's pretty much all you'll see (other than the man wearing the green suit at the birthday party). And finally, when you see the alien, he looks fake as hell. he LOOKS computer generated, and just completely unbelievable.

There were a lot of times when the movie tried to be comedy. If the movie was supposed to be a comedy, it was great! It wasn't though, so it was absolutely horrible. Not to mention the worst ending to any movie I've ever seen in my entire life.

The only good thing about the movie, which was done well, was the music. If the screenplay was half-as-good as the music, I'd have soiled my pants several times throughout the course of the film.

Absolutely Horrible.

I thought it was a great movie until the last 15 minutes or so. Then he ruined it with a hokey ending.

His movies seem to be about one thing but ultimately end up being about something else.

I guess I won''t complain about how anything resolved, but I did like the underlying message. I think the expression of that message, including the ending, went together well. It wasn''t really intended to be a monster flick. The message was more important to the filmmaker. I like films like that.

If I want the other kind of film (where the action, the enemies, and the resolution are the story) I''ll watch Godzilla or Independence Day.

I thought it was a pretty good movie, but I thought the comedy moments were a bit misplaced.

As far as alien movies go, I would rate it in the top 5%. Yea, the ending was kinda....blah...

That movie was scary . There''s no two ways about it. I was pretty damn freaked out!

In other words, I really enjoyed it. Okay, the last two minutes of the movie aren''t perfect, but the movie wraps up well, and leaves alot to be interpreted for yourself.

I thought it was a good movie! However... the ending did suck.

I laughed at the comedy, cuzz it was funny, especially the nerds line from the uncle dude.

Yeah I agree with waverider. The movie (I don''t want to give anything away though) wasn''t about aliens really. It was a movie about character development, in which we learn a lesson, that just happens to be happening with aliens involved..heh

I thought it was pretty good. The alien did look fake at the end, though... they should have kept the alien suit from the birthday party.

And I thought the comedic parts were a nice treat. Life is funny, and it is good to have some comedy in a "horror" flick.

I was pleasantly surprised. The Sixth Sense was refreshing and new and then "Unbreakable" came out and it was just the same Sixth Sense formula and it was boring because the entire movie was just waiting for the "shocker" at the end. Like "Soylent Green" or "Rosemary''s Baby." The classic "Twilight Zone" story telling formula.

Since it was the same writer/director/producer I expected it to be another cookie cutter "Six Sense" formula movie and it was actually really really good. You weren''t bored out of your mind waiting for the twist at the end. The whole movie actually flowed nicely and wasn''t just about the ending.

As has been said before, the movie is not really about aliens and crop circles. If you go to see an action movie, you''ll likely be disappointed, since most of the cool everything-blows-up theme along with the sci-fi stuff was lacking. More than anything, it was a movie about faith. It won''t satisfy the deeply analytical, but it''s certainly a refreshing view. I thought the humor was actually really well done. It was enough to lighten the mood, and it was tasteful. Overall, I enjoyed it a lot.

The suspense was good and I was actually surprised it involved aliens, I thought it was a bear, my friends thought it was deer. The end sucked ass. What was the deal with harvesting humans? Food? Slave labor? That was all I could think about as I ate my ruben and strawberry malt later.

I thought the most interesting part was dealing with how the "average" family would deal with an end of the world situation. I think trying to establish that the family was very American was a bit overdone, but I still found it interesting. I have to agree that it wasn''t very frightening (and I tend to have a pretty low tolerance for horror films), and most of the movie I was just curious to see how the movie would resolve itself (I mean, they''re not going to kill off a priest having a crisis of faith with an asthmatic kid, are they?). That being said, the end of the movie wasn''t exactly the most original way out, though it did the job.

However, I think the best character was the army recruiter.

It was absurd.

Aliens have all this technology, they can fly from a distant planet to wage war, but they don''t have any tools to help them in combat. Hell, they can''t even break through a small piece of wood covering a small portion of the house''s windows. If they''re locked in a pantry by a couple pieces of furniture, they''re not much use at all. And water kills them? What a coincidence (OHH, I said coincidence, let''s think about that deep and hard because that''s what Mel Gibson does when he sits on the couch with his brother watching TV) that the girl doesn''t like water, so she just leaves the glassess ALL around the house. How so very perfect. What a horrible way to set up the demise of the alien.

The wife said, ''Swing Away'' just before she died. She was talking about the guy''s baseball practice, not about aliens. Personally, when I see a fucking alien in front of me, the LAST thing I think of is my wife talking about baseball.

The whole movie was a joke. Sure, I could write a movie about Attack of the Clowns, and how the average family deals with it- it''s the exact same concept, but people wouldn''t take it nearly as serious as they do in this. The movie might as well have been about clowns, because clowns have more forms of defense and better stategic concepts than the bloody aliens.

It was more funny than it was scary. I don''t know about you guys, but a guy standing on a roof, or a few ''click click click'' sounds on the baby monitor isn''t enough for me to become scared.

I understand that the movie wasn''t about an attack, or action. It was about how a family sticks together through the toughest of times, look danger in the face and laugh- all for the sake of ''the family''. What a horrible flaming piece of trash.

I realize that 9 / 10 people will love this movie, but I find it so terribly absurd, that it''s just no longer enjoyable.
