My team is in need of a height map generator that can use one big "drawing board" to draw the heightmap, then split it into smaller .bmp files for loading into our engine. Please e-mail me for more imformation. P.S. All of our programmers are busy working on our current engine, that is why I came here.

why can''t you use any 2d drawing program to create a big image and use the cut and paste feature of the same drawing program to split it?

We need something that does that automaticly as well as something that makes an index file, makes them into the EXACT size needed (Which is harder by hand, in most programs.).

I never really thought about just splitting it up before though, if you have a program that you can select 25x25 pieces and save seperate then please tell me.

hey, c''mon, this is SO easy to code, for the code that actually does the work,
you''ll need appxm. 10 mins ?
just get a bmp loader, load it, split it, save it!
well, it''s just for you,
you don''t need to make a professional looking program, just make a console app
that takes the source file name as command line parameter.
a typical uncomfortable developer-only tool

It is now for sure you can throw away your computer

Actually I was talking about a bmp loader / viewer that has certain saved "shapes" that you can select, and add to your map... Such as mountains, hills, ect.
