Hi to all... I''m doing a simple engine 3D and i have seen that engine performance is very strange... When i use hardware vertex processing i obtain a lower framerate, g_pD3D->CreateDevice( D3DADAPTER_DEFAULT, D3DDEVTYPE_HAL, hWnd, D3DCREATE_HARDWARE_VERTEXPROCESSING, &d3dpp, &g_pd3dDevice ) ) ) while when i use software vertex processing i obtain better performance. g_pD3D->CreateDevice( D3DADAPTER_DEFAULT, D3DDEVTYPE_HAL, hWnd, D3DCREATE_SOFTWARE_VERTEXPROCESSING, &d3dpp, &g_pd3dDevice ) ) ) I have a GeForce4MX440.... Any suggestion? Thx, Alex

Get a Geforce3, much better bandwith, and then sue NVidia.

BATCH BATCH BATCH!!!

Your probably not batching sufficintly (same texture, same renderstate, same texturestate, so on). HW T+L is much more sensitive to poor batching so BATCH your states.

Hi, i have done some change in my engine.
I have another question: my engine speed up when runs in a window, while is slower when i''m in fullscreen.
Moreover in fullscreen my engine runs at 60 fps and don''t go over this value...
Any suggestions?

Thx

It wont go over 60 Hz because VSync is enabled. Disable it.
