I am just learning opengl. I''m going through Jeff Molofee''s tutorials. I''m at the part where I apply textures, CH 6. I need to include glaux.lib but whatever I do, i can figure it out. How Do I do this, #include <c:\bc5\lib\gl\glaux.lib>? The libary is attempted to get included, but I get all these errors like Error: glaux.lib(2,53):Illegal character ''`'' (0x60) Error: glaux.lib(3,1):Illegal character '''' (0x0) Error: glaux.lib(3,1):Illegal character '''' (0x0) Error: glaux.lib(3,1):Illegal character '''' (0x1) Error: glaux.lib(3,1):Illegal character '''' (0x1b) etc... Pleae HELP!!!

1) Libraries are generally not text files. You do not include them. Instead, you feed them to the linker the same way you would a source file. How you do this depends on your compiler and/or IDE. Since you''re using what appears to be Borland, try ''bcc32 -h'' for more information about libraries.
2) You should never use GLaux. Please see NeHe''s first tutorial about loading Targa images.

Also: try ''bcc32 /?'', if no one posts how to include libraries with Borland and ''bcc32 -h'' doesn''t give you help information (I''m guessing what the switch is).

If your using the commandline version just do something like this:

"bcc32 [various settings like -W go here] -e[Name of exe] glaux.lib mysource.cpp"

Do it exactly like that (please take note of the spacing) and it should work (assuming you've set up the configuration files correctly).

One day someone will realize the true power of Google (1 with a hundred 0's).
