Hello, I''m developing Java apps using Forte for Java 4 Community Edition and the Java SDK 1.4.0. I''m using Windows 2000 Pro, and I have 256Mb of RAM. When I load Forte, Windows'' Task Manager says that Forte uses aprox. 50Mb of RAM, but after usign it a lot (3 or 4 hours), it grows to 100MB, and I must restart it... When I restart it, it works well (the 50MB used), but it continues working... Do you know if there''s any patch to solve this? Thanks a lot. P.S.: Sorry for my bad english... :^P

This is the biggest problem with Forte IMO. There is a toolbar called "Memory" you can use that will show you how much of the JVM heap is in use, as well as give you a button to invoke System.gc(). But it doesn''t appear to reduce the actual JVM heap size, it just clears any unreachable memory in that heap.

I have enough memory on my workstation to where this isn''t really a problem. If you can''t get more memory, just use the time while the IDE is restarting to get a soda or something (or use a more lightweight IDE like JCreator).
