I''m writing code for a site and am trying to have it conform to HTML4 Strict. Basically, this means no formatting in the HTML itself... So I''ve gotten to the point where I need a table and I''m having a problem. I have no idea how I can tell it "cellspacing=''0'' cellpadding=''0'' border=''0''" using CSS. I checked the CSS standards from w3.org and still have no idea how to do this. I''ve tried "border: none; border-collapse: collapse;" and a few other variations, but this doesn''t seem to work. Anyone have any ideas?

Agent, you do it like this I believe..

.TABLE { properties: go; here: yeah; }
.TD { more: properties; go: here; }
.TR { etc: etc; }

I do know how to use CSS, I just don''t know what properties to modify... which is very annoying

Not in CSS Level 2 and below it''s not, and there is no CSS Level 3.

I think Arion''s link should help you for your padding problem and then for your bordering problem you can use border.

Here is a piece of my site''s CSS:

border : 0px none #000000;

Width is set to 0, style is set to none, color is set to black (background of my site).

I will not make a list of links... I will not make a list of links... I will not make a list of links...

you need to set padding, margin and border. padding is the space inside the cell between its edge and its content. margin is the space between cells, and border is the border around each cell.

if you set all of these to 0px you should get the result you are after.
