Database make file error

Is this just a database of items, cost, manufactuer, damage, recharge rate, etc., or an entirely new application? If it''s just a database of information, you can get away with putting everything into an Excel spreadsheet or Access database.
But I think the error means it can''t find the makefile
What compiler are you using, and what does the new application do?

Its kind of a database of information but the user can input new information and can always coem back to it and open it to check out what commponents the user needs to build something.
Im using Microsoft Visual C++ intro edition
Also i really dont want to do this in spreadsheet, i just want to get this working for soem personal experience aswell as helping out enb traders.

Well, don''t you have to get a recipe before you can manufacture something? And don''t you only get a recipe by Analyzing?
Anyway, there are a few standard question:
1) What type of project did you create (Win32, console, etc.)
2) What kind of interface will this program have?
3) What compile settings are you using (standard, custom)
Any other information you can give us is great, because this is a really vague problem.

That's your problem. You shouldn't have created a makefile project. From MSDN:
What you want is a "Win32 Console Application" for DOS, and when you move on, "Win32 Application" for all the Windows stuff. Create it, and move your existing code files into the project directory. Then you can add them to the project.

A MAKEFILE project is a command line project in which you tell a build engine the command line to execute. The default command is nmake but you can use any build tool.
