I''m battling to find some decent textures. Could anyone point me in the direction of a good place for images of star fields? I need a space background... but can''t seem to find one. No planets or galaxies or anything, just some stars. Perhaps some very light nebulae... Basically, I need an image of stars as viewed from our solar system. Anyone able to help me out here? Thanks.

You mean you want all or most of the star constellations to be accurate?

No, I should have been more specific.

I needed a texture of a generic starfield... but without nebulae and other such DSO''s ... but I''ve found a program called Universe, which does a nice job of creating one.

It''s shareware, so if anyone needs info about this utility, let me know.

i would love to know where you got the program - i certainly have some uses for it.

if you want some shots of nebulae, etc, you might check out nasa''s web site, esp the hubble telescope pictures.

It is highly recommended. I don't know if there are better out there, but the images this application creates are excellent.
