Does anyone here know how to work on old VW Bugs? I have a 71 bug I need to get running before the end of the month. The problem, when I turn the key, the lights on the dash turn on, but I don't hear anything from the rear end. I have a DMM and I want to test the wires going into the starter, but I don't know where it is. Also, I don't even know what to look for. If I don't fix it before the end of the month I have to trash it (or get evicted). Jason Mickela ICQ : 873518 Excuse my speling. Sorry, I''m no mechanic. I just wanted to point out that the title of this thread is "VB Bug *help*" instead of VW Bug. Unless you''re programming the car with VB...

My dad have restored two bugs from death and he said that the wires are under the car. The starting engine should be located above the right (flexible shaft, flexible joint, hinge? not sure about the word.)

There should be a lot of pages concerning bugs because of it''s cult status such as this one: http://w1.316.telia.com/~u31614134/eindex.htm

You could try one of them

Good luck!

You can, edit your first post.
Chess is played by three people. Two people play the game; the third provides moral support for the pawns. The object of the game is to kill your opponent by flinging captured pieces at his head. Since the only piece that can be killed is a pawn, the two armies agree to meet in a pawn-infested area (or even a pawn shop) and kill as many pawns as possible in the crossfire. If the game goes on for an hour, one player may legally attempt to gouge out the other
