Does anyone know of any good bulk e-mail sending programs for people who want to join a mailing list? Something that will read a list of e-mails from a text file would be perfect.

My company uses the old Majordomo listbot server with sendmail. It reads e-mail addresses in from text files and allows users to sign-up and leave the group at any time. Of course you can configure to NOT automatically let people sign-up/leave -- aka, if it were a moderated forum, whatever. It really works quite well.

I also use majordomo, very easy to use, exspecially when you use WebMin (google for webmin)
