I''m trying to create an MDI window (using WTL) in the MDI container of another application from my own, however my inital aptempt resulted in a nice exception being throw while trying to read some memory... So, I was wondering, is doing this a simple case of creating the MDI window from my application with the parent window set to the MDI container of the other app or, is it a simple case of doing that from within the address space of the other app? or am I barking up the wrong tree completly? any help you can give my poor tired brain would be appricated

The winprocs for mdi apps are fairly involved because there are two wndclasses and they interact. To compound that complexity with some king of interprocess mechanism sounds overly complicated. If you want to get a better feel for the two wndprocs involved, there is a simple mdi sample available at winprog.org in the faq section. Perhaps it might help you to target that first and once you get it down, then move on to your intended victim, er target

cheers for that, I''ve had a quick read and it looks like the MDI window has to be created inside the target MDIClient''s process'' address space, which isnt a huge problem as I already have a DLL injected into the process'' address space.
