Ahh, hardware sucks! I''ll take programming any day!
Anyway, I''ve been trying to update my sorry NVidia Riva TNT 1 driver to the detonator driver to resolve a conflict, but when I go to install the driver, I get the error message that Setup was unable to locate the PCI ID in NVAML.INF. So, discouraged, I went and installed version 28.32 of the drivers, and now I get this odd error when Windows starts up. Just after the Windows logo and just before Windows should load, I get this black screen with a flashing cursor in the corner. If I then restart my computer a few times, I can get it to boot back into Windows, but sometimes it just keeps freezing at the same place. The problem is the same as the one in this thread: Here, but unfortunately, no solution was ever presented in this thread either. Any ideas how I can fix this?
BTW, I have a Win 98 system. Please help...
Thanks,
-Jesse
