Hi, Just had a really annoying problem I ope can be easily solved. I have just installed Visual Studio .NET on my computer (which btw took ages!) and attempt to try it out in simple C++. Created a simple C++ project and source file and created a simple Hello World program. It compiled fine but when I attempt to run it via the debugger (F5 or even Control F5) it gives me the message: Cannot start debugging. Reinstall setup or repair the debugger. What does this mean? I though a simple move from VS 6 to VS .NET would be simple. I tried reinstalling again (again a very long time) and even try looking for the Debugger in the components installation (only Remote Debugger was available which I also installed just in case) but no luck. Anyone had this problem and any suggestions?

I seem to recall problems with the user not having enough permissions to debug - you should check what group you belong to (I believe it should be debuggers, but if you''re an admin it should also work)

I''m running it as an admin so it should work.
Here''s what the actual message say:

Unable to start debbuging. Debugger not installed properly. Run setup or repair debugger.

I assume the debugger should be installed automatically. Anyway, anymore suggestions, otherwise Id properly stick to VS6.

Sounds like you have a fubar installation. The debugger is not an optional component. Maybe you should try the MS VS.NET newsgroups - you are more likely to get a qualified answer there than here.

In any case, do try to add yourself to the debuggers group - it won''t hurt.
