Hello all, I have a question about the MeshLvl demo in Jim Adams'' RPG w/ DirectX book. When I load the workspace on the cd and compile everything seems to work fine. But when I try to do the same thing in my own workspace I get some funny results. My demo looks fine but as soon as I move the mouse the camera moves by it self and changes direction whenever the mouse is moved. The arrow keys don''t seem to work but pressing esc does. I''ve tried commenting out my entire code and including the original WinMain.cpp in my workspace with the Core_s from the book. It still does the same thing. I''ve tried both the original Core_s and the updated Core_s downloaded from the website. I can''t seem to figure it out and it''s probably something simple. But I''m tired of pulling my hair out. Thanks for any help. ProgrammerKai

Thank you Jim.

I added /J to the Project Options box under Code Generation on the C/C++ tab in Project Settings. Works fine now.

Could you maybe explain what exactly adding /J does? I don''t think it was brought up in your book and I have never used it before.

Thank you again

I forget exactly what it does, but I think it has something to do with modifying the char data type to be compatible with 32 bit systems? maybe i''m way off.

Great! Thanks!

I must have missed only that part of the Appendix.
