How about an option to spellcheck posts?
And so, the evil religion thread stole the wonderful "What the Heck?" thread's throne. Truly a sad day for gamedev.

I''d say "no", for two reasons:

a) If it was optional, nobody would use it anyway
b) If every post was automatically spelled checked, it''d flag the correct () spelling of "colour" as wrong, since this site is hosted in the US... I couldn''t live in a world where I was forced to spell it the "other" way (which I will not utter here)

Besides, I''m sure the servers are overloaded as it is, a spellchecker will just make it worse...

If I had my way, I''d have all of you shot!

We used to have a spellchecker provided by a free 3rd party service. It actually was used all the time, and it included a combo box to select what "version" of English to check against (it even included other languages). Unfortunately, they stopped providing the service for free, and since their new system charges per use, there''s just no way we could afford it.

As for doing our own, it''s far from a trivial task, and we don''t really have the time for it.

Well when you think about it we could just type in in on word then paste it on here if we wanted to spellcheck.
