Here I am, blank page that's supposed to become an essay. I'm not sure how I'm going to do it. I've heard that a good way to remove writer's block is to write and
write and write (ad nauseum) until you have a good idea. I don't know if that's true, because I've never really tried it before. So far I do not have any good ideas on how to start
this essay. And I can't believe that it's standard to double-space. Until today I had always strongly believed that double-spacing is borderline cheating. Hold on, let me check
my MLS packet... hmm, it would appear that the sample essay is double-spaced, so I guess that's a 'yes.' I guess I shouldn't be too harsh; after all, I tend to use a font size
that's a point or two larger than the default 10, so being judgemental would be hypocritical. Hey, I'm writing a lot. Too bad I can't use it for my essay. It's about Evolution vs.
Creationism. Very controversial, you know. I have to describe the problem, explain the major players in the conflict, and then write a few pages about my personal involvement
with the issue. It would be easy if I could just come up with an introduction. The introduction and the conclusion are the hardest parts for me. Somehow I always come up with
some sort of intro at the last minute, but I'm really trying to not procrastinate so much. Maybe I can write the body and come up with a good introduction later.
Sorry I left, I had to play "The Way of The Exploding Stick." I got 22 on the first game. Well, I don't play many fighting games. The last one I played was "Shadows of
Cairn," and I never tried that hard because I always cheated. Damn, Wordpad doesn't do double-spacing very well, so I can't tell how many pages I've typed. Still, I've managed to get this far in only 10 minutes, if you don't count the time I spent on that game. I wonder if I should post this on GameDev. People are always doing that sort of thing, maybe I should too. Or maybe not. I can't imagine anyone really caring about my little problems unless they think I'm about to kill myself. That's always the way, isn't it? People ignore you until you put a gun to your head or stand on the edge of a cliff yelling, "Goodbye, World!" then suddenly they give a damn.
Maybe I should stop this train of thought before this turns into my suicide note.
Hmm, should I continue my little essay? Question asked, question answered. Okay, let's continue. I rather like this "Avalon" webcomic. Very Avalon-y, and very webcomic-y. I think that about says it all. So read it! Or don't. I'm not gonna be a webcomic nazi, deciding which comics you read and which ones you don't. I don't need that kind of job stress, thank you very much.
Still no ideas, except for that "skip the intro for now" one, but I don't like it, since it would involve stopping this little, um, whatever it's called. I think Haley Joel Osmont's character from "The Sixth Sense" did it. I think my results are better. Oh, and I don't steal statues, so that another point in my favor. Take that, crazy dead-guy-seeing kid! Ahem, I think it's time to move to more pressing matters. CmndrM (I don't know if that spelled correctly. Normally I'd check, but this time I decided that if I get it wrong and he's hurt, it's his own damn fault for having a name with a difficult spelling to remember) is complaining about ShiningKnight/Trent/mittens/Strike. And he's saying that Strike is plagarizing from his name, Strife. That's pretty silly, if you ask me. I mean, that's like me getting pissed off at ARCHIGAMER? Wait, did he register before me? Maybe he should get angry at me!
Let's talk about something else.
Wow, almost the second page, according to Microsoft Word. And no double-spacing, either. I would be a quarter of the way to completing my homework essay if any of this were useful material. Alas, it is not. Truly tragic. I wonder if posting this would do any good. Probably not. I doubt much meaningful discussion would result:
Poster 1: Wow, Archwizard is a whiny fucktard.
Poster 2: Shut up, (name removed for safety reasons). Uh, I mean "Poster 1."
I think it's pretty obvious that I shouldn't post this, especially with that crack at (name removed, yet again, for safety reasons). Maybe if I censor it...
Er, now where was I? Oh yes. I was talking about the lack of wisdom required to believe that posting this mess is a good idea. Um, let's see: posting this requires a lack of wisdom. I think I've pretty much exhausted the subject now. Onward!
What now? Do I post this? Do I buckle down and go back to staring at a blank essay, waiting for inspiration to come? And by 'inspiration,' I mean 'death?' Should I go back to reading Avalon? Should I seek a radioactive spider, get him (or her, I'm not sexist or anything) to bite me, and develop super powers so I can save the world from the Green Goblin and other assorted bad guys?
Or maybe I should just shut up.
[EDIT] Damn formatting. Well, I'm just here to say that I know, but I'm not gonna fix it. You'll have to cope, sorry.
