I have 10/100 network (switch) between two windows 2000 machines. What are some possible reasons for incredibly slow transfer rates? I''m talking like 80 minutes for a 100 mb file, even though LAN status shows 100.0Mbps.

Go into the properties for the connection and click on "Configure", then go into Advanced (I think - it''s the second tab along) and make sure "Connection Type" (or something) is set to "100MB/s - Full Duplex". Sometimes when it''s set to Auto-Detect it doesn''t auto-detect properly...

Sorry I''m being rather vague, I''m not logged in as an Admin at the moment so I can''t check

If I had my way, I''d have all of you shot!
