Original Post
The name of the RPG is The Crystal Road Project. So far we've come up with the idea of a character walking around battling creatures with magical weapons and skills. The character will pick up items as he kills creatures. He will gain experience and develope learned skills from completing task (that NPCs ask them to do ie. kill all of the monsters in the NPCs cornfield or something like that). The player will learn new skills from defeating bosses. He will also get new items from that. His goal is to reach The Crystal Road in the sky that is good (we haven't thought of why yet). We need anyone skilled in VB, 3-D art, 2-D art, music, sound effects, or anything else a game would need. We will be using a DirectX 3-D graphics engine. If you are intrested please email crystalroadproject@yahoo.com or go to crystalroadproject.tk The team will work with no pay.

I believe you''ll have to try to make a better design of the game.
Right now it seems too simple, and alot like all the other games.
Basically your game is "some character walks around, kills creatures with magic and weapons and skills and picks items from the creatures, he gains experience and develops skills from completing the tasks the NPC''s give them, and learns new skills from killing bosses, from which also gets new items. then he must find some special place/item (the crystal road)"
sounds like you''re describing diablo or any game of the type. Not sure if you got a design doc but you should, and you should describe the experience system, weapons, magic, skills systems, and all that.

do you have any better ideas?
I''ve got an idea for a game. You start out when some monsters (or maybe terrorists - we haven''t decided yet) attack, and then you have to find a gun and shoot them all, and there''ll be about 15 levels, then you''ll have to kill a boss to win the game. It''ll be first person and all in 3d. We''ll need programmers, 3d modellers, texture artists, sound engineers, story writers, and $50,000. But we can''t pay anyone.
My point? It''s very easy to put together a vague game description that sounds like any other game ever been made. Your description sounds like every cliched RPG out there.
People would take you more seriously if you wrote the story, sketched out the basic gameplay etc, and put it into a basic design doc. There are too many "teh next FFVII" wannabe''s to take a proposition worded in this way, and with this amount of detail, seriously. Also, what role do you intend to play in all this? In most indie teams the team leader plays an active role in some area of the development.
Btw, a 3d engine in VB would run somewhat slow I believe. Though I''m not sure of that, perhaps its just a myth.
(to be honest, your post is so cliched I''m having a hard time deciding whether this is a prank post or not, so if it is...disregard the above)

Well I would want to add much more character-world reaction. Like monsters could steal items that they wanted and the character could get arrested or something like that if they did a evil quest. There would also be different currences and values for items. Players could submit quest designed with a utility. My role in the project is programmer.
Perhaps you should try putting your post in the Game design or game writing sections and ask for ideas. Then when you have a more solid idea then you can start asking for programmers and stuff.
It''s said that most indie developers never complete thier first project, without a more defined plan of execution you will probably end up as a statistic as well
And you''re right Andru, VB is definitely not the way to go if you want efficient code.

do you have any better ideas?
Yes I do, and they are in my RPG project
took me some time to figure out everything (and still needs some stuff)
just a tip: try thinking about a game you want your to be like, then think about every aspect of it, if you like it or not, and how you can make it better
some of this aspects are the fighting system, character selection & development, skills & spells, weapons & armor, enemies, etc
