I recieved quite a few applicants, the vast majority of which where excellent (I ended up creating a seperate mail folder and filter to automatically collect them). Unfortunately I had to pick only a few, both to make sure a final census would be possible and to try and avoid having more judges than entries. Originally I planned on 4 judges, however with all those applications I expanded it to 6 in order to give as many people as possible a chance. Those who I didn't pick to judge this contest have been recorded and will likely be getting spam email directly to them when I need judges again (depending on the success of the Mini-Contest and a judgeless one I have in store for December it could be as early as Jan/Feb).
And without further delay your judges (So if you don't get a good score these are the people to hunt down):
I am now seeking volunteers to judge the Ascii Fish Mini Contest. Anyone who is interested should contact me at david_michalson@hotmail.com. This is a casual contest so I'm not looking for industry veterans, just programmers/artists/gamers like you who can tell when they're having fun. Please include your Gamedev nickname in your email, as my primary method for choosing judges (unless I get just 3 replies) will be based on forum behavoir (I'm not looking for ass kissers here, I just don't want individuals who would intentionally screw up judging for the "fun" of it, ie. trolls). The judging itself will begin on December 1st or 2nd when I upload the entries (Judges will use a provided login to submit their scores, and when all scores have been submited you will have access to a "forum" to discuss which entries should be crowned the winners). Before that date any judges who wish to provide extra help can do so by testing my new Mini-Contests site (it's not open for testing right now due to some Access97-2000 compatiblity issues which are preventing write access). Judges are still allowed to submit entries, however by judging you forfeit your chance to get any of the winning positions.
This post qualifies for 100 per cent Canadian Content under the rulings of the Canadian Internet Commission and the Federal Ministry of Communication. There are four Americans who worked on this post, but they all have landed immigrant status, and have signed CRTC affidavits swearing that they drink beer, eat back bacon, drive snowmobiles and wear toques. Any resemblance between the Content of this post and the content of any American post is purely coincidental and not the intention of the poster or the various Internet Agencies of the Canadian Government who have screened these posts prior to bulk erasing in accordance with the policies of the Federal Internet Identity Board.
