Hi, i want to program an extrusion algorithm to make 3d solids from 2d convex hulls. I understand the algorithm, but how can i make sure that each of my perpendicular planes face outwards the convex hull? thanks Gammastrahler

Well, if you are extruding trianle ABC to A''B''C'' then first you want to verify that (A-B)x(C-B).D where D is the direction of extrusion is negative, i.e. the normal of the original face is opposite the direction of extrusion. Assuming they are correct then the side sharing AB should be BAA''B''. The opposite face should be CBA.
