I to everybody I would to create a mmorpg like the 4th coming or Ultima on Line, but I got some problems with isometric graphic: I want to understand how can I menage large maps and how can I save them (lik images or something different??) sorry for my cursed english, but I''m italian.. P.s: i want to develop my software initially in Python, and after tranlate all that I need to be faster in C...

depends on what you want to save

probably a self-defined file type would be better.

There''s several articles in the Articles & Resources section of GameDev.net that explain how various people handle the tile-based game''s file format. Most likely you''ll take one of these ideas and adjust it to meet your needs.
