I have a simple question. When building a computer from scratch, you put everything together and turn it on. ok. Then, u need a boot disk. 1) where do I get one. WinXP won''t let me make one like other win versions will it? and 2) somone told me I need some dos disks to install dos and then install winxp??

Just boot from the CD.

You''re gonna need a Windows 98 boot disk, as the boot disks from all the other Windows Operating Systems don''t allow you to use the CD-ROM drive. Once you have the Win 98 boot disk, all you have to do is place the WinXP CD in the drive, and run the install program. You don''t have to install DOS previous to doing any of the above, as that is what the boot disk does.

you dont need a boot disk
just boot from the cd
