Original Post
Im honsestly not surprised.
Nintendo has had a long history of releasing late products (or no products at all) just to make the competition rush their product out the door.
SNES was a year late.
SNES CD-ROM never materialised.
Virtual Boy was a year late, and nothing like what they said it would be.
N64 was 2 years late.
Seing a trend? heh.

"Tell brave deeds of war."
Then they recounted tales, -- "There were stern stands And bitter runs for glory."
Ah, I think there were braver deeds.

You''re going to have to provide a reference. I haven''t seen ANY information about a Dolphin delay in the past several weeks. As far as I''ve seen, Dolphin is still scheduled to be released in the first half of 2001, just as Nintendo announced a few weeks ago.
So please, post your source -- it''s not IGN, Gaming Age, Nintendojo, or even Nintendo''s official website.

Let''s not forget the never released DD unit for N64. Oh yeah, and according to NextGen, Nintendo Lied to their consumers for about 6 full months, claiming that they would release Dolphin both Stateside and native in 2000. Never happened.
They said that even though none of their 2nd or 3rd party developers had devkits. Who did they think they were kidding.
Don''t know about you, but I don''t like being lied to.

For those of you who don''t know...the SNES CD became the playstation.
The DD was released in Japan.
Funny thing....Pokemon has Nintendo at the top of the sales charts.....grrrrr!!!!!!!!
"Why am I the only one on the away team with a red shirt!?"

I used to be a loyal Nintendo supporter
....I still support their Software Developement side of things, they are just about the only Company which can produce titles which are Original, and you know when your Playing a Nintendo Game Produced by Shigeru Miyamoto!!!. As for their Hardware side of things... it pretty well screwed things up. - Only *TWO* companies fully maximise what can be done with the N64's Hardware, Rare (c) & Nintendo (c).
Nintendo were caught up in their "Quality not Quantity" slogan. Which to most ppl meant a Good Solid-Ass Game NOT a 3rd Party Rush job title. But apparantely, this had a double meaning (As I found out when trying to develop a high-speed 'ACTION' game for the N64. Which to this day I still have not seen one on the N64), The N64's Graphics Acceleration can Draw Beautifully Rendered Triangles, but it can't draw millions of Triangles / Sec!!!! - This is a main feature of why The action games went to PSX along with other reasons (e.g Sony's a BIG-A$$ company didn't ya know???)
All In all, I think the best Games Console is only decided by which company has the MOST MONEY to fund it / Pay Developers/Publishers good incentives
- Hence this should end up being Microsoft's X-BOX.
Anyways thats my 2 Pence. - All just IMHO
