I had attached this question to another thread of mine in the For Beginners forum but since it''s not related to coding I figure it will get more exposure here. I''m trying to compile the latest version of the HTML Tidy code using the VC++ 6.0 makefile. When I run nmake I get a fatal error in cl.exe because cl.exe tries to call mspdb60.dll but the file cannot be found. I can, however, compile applications from the IDE. I searched my C and D drives for the dll but it was not found. I''ve recently reinstalled MSVC++ 6.0 so I don''t think that reinstalling again it will solve the problem. I have the latest service pack. I''ve been using this command (as shown here) to compile: nmake /f Makefile.vc6 all I have no idea what I need to do to get this working.

Oh, I feel like an idiot now! I didn''t realize until I went back to the XP search that it doesn''t search hidden files by default

Thanks niyaw

you allow windows to hide files from you?

DLL''s are not hidden in Explorer, only system folders like the recycle bin folders and things like manifest files are hidden. Apparently though DLL''s are still hidden in the search function though.
