Original Post
Im new to game dev. but im not dumb,
i know how everything works out and the chances of a project actualy getting finished. Besides the facts, i would like to get a project going and a decent team to manage,
I''ll take what i can get, it doesnt matter if i have the bare minimum of personal. I have a game in mind but for obvious reasons im not tell a whole lot about the game out in the open.
I need a whole team, there is no one on the team so far.
If anyone is interested in joining email me at StonedDoeBoy@aol.com, I''ll fill you in on the game and whats going down when you join.
Best regards,
Austin Atendido.
Most people will only respond to a post when there is enough information in it to spark an interest. Seeing as how you posted no information about the game, you shouldn''t expect a lot of response. If you think your idea may get stolen if you post it, don''t worry about it. Ideas are cheap and most aren''t even worth stealing anyway. Even if you had given just a brief overview (genre, for instance), it might promote interest.
I agree. At least some info needs to be posted. I have no idea what your skills are even, so knowing what skills you need would definately get some idea of whether any applicants can help or not. If you were making a 3-d game, then a 2-d artist would be of little help unless they know how to make skins and textures.
Sorry, Heres a brief description,
The name of the game is "Enhander Profile"
It is a side scrolling "dungeon crawler" with a twist and plenty of roleplaying elements. The game switches from side scrolling to isometric when out side of combative areas. the game is only isometric when in player friendly areas like towns and cities,
*Realistic conditions will aply to characters
*Characters will be able to talk to npcs and get quests from them.
*Gameplay will be totaly free style not one forced mission/quest
*In order to higher stats players will have to train characters vigorously.
*Randomized quests and dungeons wont be the same game twice.
I am Austin Atendido, I can Do concept art and learning to model and skin in 3dsmax.
Thinking of learning to program in basic and learn harder languages. I can write one heluva story.(so ive heard) In this project, I will lead and manage the team, Draw all the most of the concept art of the Characters and maybe some of the baddies.
I will develop the story, the game concept and how the systems work in the game. When and if the project gets finished i will find the publisher and act as the chairman of our team.
All members of "dreamsoft" will collect a certain percent of the proceeds earned from the game sold. note that 50% percent of the proceeds will go back into the company for further expansion, hence the fact that this will be the teams first project.
i will need a couple programers that are familiar with C++ and or AI 2-3 2d artists one will need to be able to draw isometric tiles and back/forground for inside combative areas one will need to be able to draw sprites, and sprite animations (for combative and isometric player friendly areas) and the last should be able to draw 2d specail effects i.e. explosions.
i would like to have everyone stay on there toes and should be able to work on deadline(motivation is needed)

Anark,
No offense intended, but if you''re just now learning to create models and textures with 3DSMax and you''re just now thinking of learning to program in BASIC, I''d go back to the drawing board with this idea.
I''m sure you''re a great writer, but to make a "publisher" quality demo, it''s going to take you and a group of about 5 programmers and 5 artists a minumum of a year.
Also, it''s typical for the project lead and/or designer to have MORE experience than the developers on the team. In your case, it seems it would be the opposite. I''m not saying this never happens, I''m just saying that it''s harder to earn your developers'' respect when they''ve been making games longer than you.
On your concept, "Gameplay will be totally free style, not one forced mission/quest" - This doesn''t lend itself well to a good story or roleplaying elements. Even Diablo had some forced quests, and that''s about as dungeon crawl as you can get.
Here''s my advice, start from the beginning. Get a subscription to Game Developer Magazine, pick up a basic book on C++, learn to use Maya or 3DSMax, and in a year or two when you''ve become more familiar with the industry and all that it entails, post here again about your great story.
Good luck to you and I hope your story ends up on shelves some day.

Thanks jeremy,
Ya ive thought over my idea over and over this mourning and i kept telling myself that im going over-the-egde,
The game I had planned would be way to much to handle and would be a mouth full that i wouldnt be able to handle,
let me start over...
As im getting into the industry and learning the ways.
Would anybody wanna take me under there wing and answer some questions i have? There are tons of questions i have that some articles and tutorials wouldnt be able to answer.
