Tests

I think the subject line + the icon are enough.
I''ve already had 2 tests this week (in bio and psychology), both of which I didn''t do as well as I should have... Now I''ve got another one, this time in calculus, tomorrow. Let''s hope this trend doesn''t continue.
Oh, and of course, after this week, finals start. Yipee!
You have tests right before finals?!?! That''s disgusting! not to mention cruel, and sort of pointless. Luckily my university has a policy agains tests the week before finals. I''m sure if they didn''t, professors would push tests to the week before finals. They''re mean like that. Anyway, Good luck
I had a test last week for Software Development Tools (in english, this means C++, Parsing and GUIs). The problem was I hadn't had any time to revise because I've been given a completely unreasonable amount of coursework this semester. To make matters worse, I haven't attended any lectures for the last 4 weeks - also because I've got too much coursework, and the drive to campus takes too long. I got all the C++, most of the parsing, but very little of the GUI stuff, since it was all Java specific and I can't remember it from last year. I probably got about 65% overall when I could have got 98%.
I've had about 6 assignments to complete in the last 4 weeks. One of which was only worth about 20%, and was seriously huge. Everyone on the course had problems with that, and we complained until we were granted an extension. That left us a week less to do the other work of course. The solution? We can work in pairs on the next piece - a piece of work which is entirely linear and therefore only one person can work on it at a time (unless you want to share a keyboard with someone - yay!). As a result, I'm waiting for someone who can't really code very well to program the first part, so I can start on the second. Life is not good.
Apologies for the slightly OT whinge, but your post just reminded me of my own sorry situation

Well, our discreet math teacher was 2 chapters behind. She decided the best thing to do was briefly cover 8 sections in two days. She also decided to give us the same amount of work for these sections as the previous ones. I''ll just say that I am in the middle of doing exactly 368 problems by this Thursday. Guess what thursday is... the test! A test for which she has not teached us any of the material. Everyone will probably flunk it. Heh, nobody in the class has recieved an A on a test. I think the highest score has been a 84% so far. Most of the people flunk the tests. In fact, everyone but 8 people have dropped the class. I think it started with about 30.
I hated it when I felt like I did well (but couldn't check my work) and got a lower grade.
I also hated it when I thought I did badly and had no idea whether my answers were right or wrong but got an ok grade. Depending on the curve of the class to be low is sometimes a bad thing.
I loved system of equations questions on math tests, though. You could always check your work!
Ahh, but to take a test, know the answers and KNOW you're right about them, and know you've studied hard for it, ahh, what a feeling. If only all of life rewarded you so.

That reminds me of somethingthat happened at my school. There was this course that alot of people took(I''m not sure what it was) and alot of people hated it so thay dropped out. Then someone I know tried to drop out of it but they wouldn''t let him because too many students had dropped out.
Keeping to the main topic about tests I had two today, one in spanish and one in science. The science teacher I have is kind of odd so we get an essay to do after. The odd thing is if you don''t do well on the essay I think thae highest grade you can get is a "C".
I just had a physics exam today, the third in this quarter so far. They drop the worst score out of the three, and since I did well on the previous two, I''m not worried about this grade. What sucks is that next week, finals start on Thursday. All 3 of my finals happen to be next Friday
This means math in the morning, followed by a two-hour break, and then a discrete math final followed right after by a physics final. And it will be Friday the 13th!!
