So, what type of music does everyone like? There's probably a post on this already, but spam isn't *so* bad Here's my info: I like nice instrumental music. Nothing too fast, or too fake, or "boomy" (real loud base, etc.) List of Artists:
  • Enya
  • Sarah McLachlan
  • U2 and other Bono songs
  • the boss
  • Beck (most songs)
  • Anything produced by David Foster
  • Most songs on the Warcraft III soundtrack (mostly Arrival at Kalimdor, Awakening, Blackrock & Roll, Cinematic Suite, Doomhammer's Legacy, Lordaeron Fall, Reign of Chaos, Rise of the Ancients,Temporary Alliances and The Calm)
  • Most songs by Celine Dion
  • Anything preformed by George Winston, Gershwin or Frank Mills
I only like very "traditional" Christmas music. Usually such music is performed by these people:
  • Bing Cosby
  • Jim Reeves
  • John Denver
  • Roger Whitiker (sp)
So! What type of music do you like? ¬_¬ [edited by - Fuzztrek on December 5, 2002 7:33:54 PM]

Classical/Jazz/Trumpet/rock

Classical Thunder is an awesome album, all the most powerful classical stuff, none of that pansy slow strings and woodwind crap

Jazz, don''t have too much here, things like Count Basie, Louis Armstrong

I love classical trumpet music( fanfares and stuff, yes, I''m a trumpet player).

Rock - only the older stuff like Iron Maiden and similar. I''m not into the new crap.

As far as normal music is concerned, I have a great affinity for experimental and industrial music. But, I now listen exclusively to video game music. The VGM scene is packed to the gills will beautiful, stunning and entertaining music that most people let slip through their consciousness.

Okay, you are my favorite person.

U2 is absolutely my favorite band, hence the username, and Sarah McLachlin comes in extremely close second. In fact, had she been around for as long as U2 and had as much music published as U2, I might even like her more. Maybe.

I also like Enya, but I admit I haven't listen to her much. I'm an Enya newb and therefore am in no position to judge.

Additionally, I'm a sucker for traditional Christmas songs like O Holy Night and God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen. I even listen to them in July. The most beautiful songs ever written.

I tend to agree. Have you ever heard some tracks from the Donkey Kong Country games? (don't make fun )

Haha Enya music is soooo nice. However, don''t be fooled by odd versions you might download off the web that have been remixed with some annoying beat that doesn''t flow at all. Personal Favorites:

Carribean Blue
Aldebaran
March of the Celts
Lazy Days
The Memory of Trees
On My Way Home
The Longships
Orinoco Flow
Storms in Africa (one and two)

Mostly metal and industrial like Pantera, Slayer, In Flames, Down, Ministry and Nine Inch Nails. There''s a lot more good bands, but I''m not going to list them all...

Now and then I like to listen to some classical music. Just for some variation...

I enjoy Jazz ,Blues, Acid-jazz, Acid-blues, folk, folk-rock, Alternative rock, a little bit of metal, samba, Ambient, and punk to name a few...What I detest most is pure pop, anything hip-hop, trip-hop, rave, polka , freestyle rap or gunge...I hate most rap, excluding the *very* rare exception.

The bands/people I listen to on a regular basis are:

1. Tragically hip
2. Beck
3. Coldplay
4. 54-40
5. Stan Getz
6. Apples in stereo
7. BB King
8. Cake
9. Chemical Brothers
10. Hayden
11. Led Zeppelin (whoo hoo!)
12. Massive Attack
13. Nick Drake
14. Queen
15. Pink Floyd
16. RATM
17. Radiohead
18. Sam Roberts
19. The white stripes
20. Velvet underground
21. Wheezer
22. The doors
23. The hives
24. Ramones
25. Buck 65
26. Jimi! (Jimi hendrix)
27. Primus
28. Rancid
29. Rolling stones
30!. Santano (sp?)

As you can see, my music tastes cover a reasonably broad spectrum. The music I listen to usually correlates with my mood, so I don''t really have a *favorite* band, just bands I listen to everyday...

Absolutely, I don''t know if you''ve happened upon some of the live, orchestrated version of the DK country music, but they are great.

I can certainly agree with that too... I have the Max Payne theme as MP3, and also play some of the UMX's from Unreal and UT... not that good to listen to directly, but perfect as something to play in the background when I'm working.

EDIT: Stupid quote system.

I'm kind of all over the place:

  • Sepultra

  • Fear Factory

  • Murderdolls

  • Stone Sour

  • Testament (OMG OMG OMG OMG!)

  • Slipknot

  • Decapitated

  • Cannibal Corpse

  • Cold

  • I know, a lot of Roadrunner Records artists on my list

For the most part I don't really like that much nu-metal. The only reason Slipknot made it on my list is because they put on some cool shows. Testament gives me the aural equivelent of an orgasm when I hear 'em; same with Sepultra. Murderdolls is the only punk band that I'm really off into. Stone Sour is nice and melodic, plus I'm a huge Cory Taylor fan. Decapitated is a fantastic Polish death metal group. Cannibal Corpse set the standard for death metal. Cold is another album rock-style group (like Stone Sour) that really appeals to me.

EDIT: I forgot Slayer. Rudan, forgive me
